Lorick, by designer Abagail Lorick from Florida moved to Paris and Milan at 18 to model. It was then she fueled her love for fashion even more and in 2003 she moved to New York to pursue design. In 2007 with a spring collection, she launched her own line. Her designs have been featured on the hit show "Gossip Girl."

Loved Looks

Lorick's minimal, clean cuts are anything but plain. The designer managed to make simplicity interesting. Much like the woman she targets, at first glance, pieces seem straight forward, but upon closer examination, there are plenty of intricate details. The collection exuded inner spirit, in a very well done presentation. With mellow colors and easy cuts paired with amazing headpieces by Gigi Burris, colored Wolford stockings worn over shoes, each look was serene and beautiful. I loved the white wide leg pants paired with the green sheer sleeveless top. I don't think there was one piece I wouldn't like to own.
Unloved Looks

Not that this dress isn't great as well, but it did seem out of place with the color choice next to the other ethereal, chic feminine outfits.

People and Scene
The wooden stools, still covered in plastic was a brilliant choice along side the garments and solidified a very ghostly, spiritual vibe. Held at the Tela Design studio in downtown New York, it felt as if you were walking into a very calm, well mannered private club. The crowd included the same type of people. Though, I have to mention, I was introduced to designer Abagail Lorick at the presentation. Um, I admit, I didn't hear who the publicist said she was introducing me to, and thought I was meeting another of the firm's staff. Therefore, I babbled about running uptown to Lincoln Center, then back downtown, and other space filling conversation. Had I known, that it was Abagail Lorick, I would've congratulated her on a beautiful collection, a gorgeous presentation and asked if she wanted to answer a few questions about her inspiration. So it goes with goofballs like me in fashion.
