Debunking the Sex and the City myth, most of the ladies I know don't have a coat for everyday of the winter. Many of us New York girls don't have a walk-in closet the size of a hotel suite.
We have choices, though. If you're the kind of girl who can drop a months rent on brand name label, there's always rationalization--I can wear it with everything! But if you want it all: the parkas, the plaids, camels and classic black, then opt out of high quality for quantity. I'm somewhere in between, if you're wondering. Partly due to Barney's refusal to give me credit, so I only spend if I have it and I really love it.
