While not as traditional as the Easter bonnet, with all its frills upon it, hats are back in a big way. If you're going out today, why not top off your look.

The View From Buenos Aires Fashion Week
What is happening in South America when it comes to fashion? We know London, Paris, Milan, and New York have all the biggest names. Enter Argentina with Buenos Aires Fashion Week. Though, the world is easily explored these days via the Internet and inspiration comes from far away lands that some of us may never had the opportunity to see in person. Its increasingly more important to pay attention today. A name you may have never heard of can make it to any department store around the world if its good enough.
Daniela Sartori works with organic material and is an expert in tailoring. Most of her clothing is unisex.

Spring 2011 Inspiration- The Lady in the Tutti-Frutti Hat
So cheeky, so fun and silly, I love an all out vintage dance number. Before Katy Perry was even born and dancing around in fruit-flavored designs, there was Carmen Miranda and her crew dancing around with bananas. I would guess that back then, it wasn't meant to be the least bit deliberately phalic like today and "dressing gay" took on a different meaning as well. So watch the Carmen and then shop the fruit salad look!!

Spring 2011 Inspiration - Mexico
I spent last week on a job working with a stylist on a shoot in San Miguel Allende Mexico. What struck me most about the little city was that color and detail was everywhere. From the little shops, to the buildings to the patterns on the doors. It seemed as if it was built just for us to shoot there.
So why not try to have a little fun this summer with your clothes? If you cant visit the destination, bring it to you. Mix patterns and colors without worrying about matching them perfectly. This dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs is a bit blatant, but any bold colored graphic pattern will do. Think ethnic charms with beads and raffia. In Mexico, idolatry is everywhere, and this cuff by
Virgins, Saints and Angels is actually made in San Miguel Allende!
Soon, you'll feel as if you left the world of basic black and journeyed to the other side of the world.
Going to San Migeul de Allende: Traveling Light
In the past when I've been asked to travel for a job, its been to places like Washington D.C. or Connecticut. Next week, though, I am going to San Migeul Allende at the request of a stylist I work for frequently. Since this trip is for business and not pleasure, no swimsuits needed. Thank Goodness. Im not sure that the Mexico is ready for the blinding whiteness that comes with my barely covered body. But, in planning my attire, I need to be practical, but I still want to look like I do in fact work in fashion. Since Chambray is trendy for Spring 2011, I love this tunic. Lucky for you and me, I've kept the cost down. Who wants to lose or ruin a $200 pair of shoes or sunglasses? Being almost transparent as well, I also need to cover up, yet still keep cool in the 8 hours or more I will be in the sun on set. Have you guessed that I'm not much of a beach girl? Yes, that is a bottle of Aveeno SPF 85 in the picture.
If you click on the items, you can see that this entire outfit cost $400, including sunblock. The most expensive piece is the jean shorts, but you can always find similar styles for much less.
Do you need help getting dressed? Email me and I'll feature your outfit here!"
