Farah Angsana's technical skills are all there. Though, I wasn't sure if she was trying to make the transition from bridal into ready to wear or if this was a showing of both. That said, the collection was inspired by her homeland, Indonesia and the colors of the soil, water, volcanoes and the savannahs. The white dress with ethnic armbands of Swarovski crystal was a stunning variation from the traditional American gown. Her earthy pleated short cocktail dress and the sequin and beaded strapless body con dress (even more impressive in person) would be a great pick for a young starlet on the red carpet.
Unloved Looks

This color combination killed me. Then I came back to life and still disliked this dress and the similar ones like this she showed. Something about the bright green hues paired with the moss, with the shiny fabric skirt under the overlapping chiffon just didn't work for me. The way the ruched chiffon was layered on top of another managed to add bulk to the model's mid section--and if it happens on a 110lb model, well, I'm sure I don't need to say the rest.
As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, I was confused as to why there seem to be this mix of bridesmaids, bridal, evening dresses, mixed with a few ready to wear pieces. I say go one or the other, not all of them in one show.
Music
Trusty Shazam iPhone application said "no matches" for several songs though it did catch a song called "Tweek Your Nipple" by Faithless. Though, Im not sure if there would be any urge to do so with some of the more matronly dresses. There were tunes that had a little tribal horn action. The program said the music was done by music producer/ composer Roman Rojas.
People and Scene
I don't know if the girls behind me were trying to establish fashion credibility to all those surrounding them or if it was their first time at a show, but they seemed to be the only ones shouting over the music "Oh, that is sooo gorge." after every piece. Other than that, it was a subdued group of people who hypnotically turned heads in each direction when the models walked past.
To Gift or Not to Gift
I didn't see anything, and definitely not in my peanut gallery seat.
