Adam Levine's Clothing Line Forces me to Make a Decision About Him

Photo: Maroon5.com

Adam Levine of Maroon 5 has always been one of those guys that Ive looked at and thought "Im not sure, he's kind of alright." But today, here, I declare my decision. Dork.

Another celebrity is claiming to have a pashion for fashion as reported on bloginity.com.

But wait, is it so dorky to be working with his father Fred....awwwwe. Hes a family man. Who doesn't like a family man?

It turns out that his Dad has been in the business of clothing for 30 years, running  boutique chain of shops called M. Fredric in Southern California.  Not only does the place sell clothes, but the website states that they are not all about the bottom line: "M.Federic supports the American Cancer Society and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times and is known as a 'retailer with heart.'"

Dammit! Do gooders and their sort of hot son! I guess much like that song "This Love" which I find myself silently singing along against my will every time I hear it on the loud speaker at some store I don't want to be in, I will be secretly rooting for Adam Levine and his range of jeans, tees and easy leather jackets.

Adam adds in WWD: "I collaborate on and approve every single piece of clothing in the line. It’s not just hawking out something because I’m in a famous band."

Okay. Okay. I don't dislike you, Adam Levine.

Hot Blues: Decades of Denim (1960's)

Denim by the decade continues with two of the hottest stars of the 1960's, Steve McQueen and Audrey Hepburn.

Steve McQueen

Who didn't give a f*ck? Steve McQueen didn't!  After all, his nicknames were "The King of Cool," "Mac", "Bandito" and "McQ" (Yes, he had it before fashion's beloved Lee Alexander McQueen, though who'd have a problem with that association). McQueen raced to fame in the 1960's with his ultra anti-hero persona in movies like and The Great Escape and Bullit.  The film, Bullit featured one of cinema's first high speed car chase scenes, with McQueen doing his own stunts, of course. In his spare time, he raced motorcycles. He could be seen shirtless at any given time in beat up jeans, but I picked out a Steve McQueen no bull shit worthy tee for you.

Audrey Hepburn

Anyone who is into fashion knows the look of Audrey Hepburn's 60's style. She's one of the most mentioned icons in the industry's magazines and media. She became one of the most sought after stars in the 1960's, starring in films like My Fair Lady, How to Steal a Million and of course the movie rendition of Truman Capote's much darker novel.  Though, during Breakfast at Tiffany's she took a break from Givenchy gowns and sang "Moon River" in her slim jeans and grey sweatshirt.  This is why we love Audrey Hepburn: the ability to look just as sophisticated and stunning in denim!

Interestingly enough, Steve McQueen was originally cast to play George Peppard's character in the film but was under contract on another project. Eh, don't think it would of suited him anyway!

Man Style: Calvin Klein's New Jeans Move the Junk From the Trunk and into the Front Seat

Photo: Calvin Klein

Women do it.  (Well, I don't...just so you know.) There are all sorts of creations and contraptions to make mammaries look "fuller" like water bras, silicone inserts, or chicken cutlets as we industry insiders call them, and even ladies jeans that maximize the bootius maximus.

So isn't it in all fairness that Body by Calvin Klein jeans for men, as the company says, have a  "body-defining fit for an enhanced profile." In other words, they let dudes rock out with their coc...um, gives them a little help in the crotch area.

But do women really ever stare down below for any sort of hint of a man's size? I asked straight boys if they would wear this new innovation in denim (and was really just prying to find out if they really think chicks check that out.)  A friend named Mike said "I don't think jeans are supposed to show an outline of that region?" When I asked my straight photographer friend if he thought these pants were more for gay men he said " or hipsters with complexes about their penis sizes."

I asked a British guy if the men of England would be more into this sort of crotch flashery.  "No! That's ridiculous." he said. I guess this debunks my theory that European men are more into showing their stuff.

I was going to ask an old dude what he thought, but couldn't muster up the courage to ask my dad.  I guess that point of view on penis padding will remain a mystery in this investigation.

My gay friend thinks this tactic could save some humilitaiton, "I won't have to be embarrassed when my date's inaugural 3rd base grope turns out to be my gym socks."

So fellas, if you wont admit that you've all thought about it, or if you're embarrassed to admit you have a small problem, or if you just think bigger is better, you can get these designer dic er, crotch enhancing pants at Calvin Klein for $79.50. Just remember, stuffed-in socks can fall out of place.
