Emporium Style
I admit, I don't really watch reality television. I've even worked as a stylist assistant on these types of shows. Sometimes I do think the premise of the shows have the best intentions, like the program I worked on called Bank of Mom and Dad that aired on SoapNet with host Farnoosh Torabi. If you've never heard of Farnoosh or the show, its about women who need help getting their finances in line and Farnoosh is just the one to do it.
As for "Keeping up with the Kardashians," I have never watched the show but I know plenty of people that have. You know this site isn't a celebrity-based gossip site but I love jewelry line Virgins Saints and Angels by CFDA inductee, Cheryl Finnegan.
I first saw the collection at a market appointment and was blown away by the intricate pieces. What was more impressive to me is that each piece had a meaning behind it. Ms. Finnegan uses Gods, Goddesses, Gypsies, Angels, Hamsas, Hearts and their signature design the San Benito. Even if you're not such a believer in such things, the pieces have such a cool goth-rock-chic feel that you'll want to wear it anyway.
With such a strong celebrity following (including my personal favorite, John Galliano), it was a logical next step for VSA to team up with the fans of the line, the Kardashian sisters, creating an Armenian inspired line.
Says Kim Kardashian, “Being Armenian has always been a huge part of our life growing up and I can’t wait to share our culture and heritage with everyone! Armenia is a culture rich in tradition, and with the help of Virgin Saints & Angels we were able to captivate it’s very essence by designing a unique line of jewelry reflecting and honoring our Armenian roots.”
And they are unique! Check out these plated in sterling silver or 18K gold pieces that will be available for spring 2010 at better boutiques. The prices will cost you between $60-$500. (Wait until after you buy these to contact Farnoosh.)
